PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency
Post-graduate year one pharmacy residency programs build on pharmacy education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification and post graduate year two pharmacy residency training.
The 12-month post-graduate pharmacy residency (PGY1) program at MidMichigan Medical Center - Midland is designed to provide pharmacy residents comprehensive training with the knowledge experience and critical thinking skills necessary to become leaders in pharmacy practice. The residency program is structured to allow residents to develop proficiency in many areas, and is flexible to meet each individual's needs and interests.
Residents participate in pharmacy coverage on a rotating schedule and are responsible for completing a research project for publication in a professional journal. upon completion of the program, residents will be competent and confident clinical pharmacists. They will be able to apply their skills compassionately in direct patient care, exhibit excellent decision-making skills and provide education and leadership.
